Friday Fiver: Book Marked

1. One Web site you can't live without.

I don't think there's one website I can't live without. I honestly don't roam the net for hours on end and really only go to a few handful of sites on a regular basis. I get bored pretty quickly.

But, if there was a site I love to visit it would have to be livejournal. I've been on livejournal or LJ since 1999 and it's always been a great place to write. In some ways, my readers became my first audience. I started writing anonymously about my life and everything happening in it before it became my first foray into a creative outlet

2. Two sites you don't like to admit you visit.

I don't think I regret visiting any sites. I don't like to admit I go on facebook regularly. The funny thing is these days I use it not for social interaction with friends or family but because I now have my own writing page.

It's the same with Twitter. I don't use it much on a personal level anymore but more for a marketing strategy and a way to interact with other writers, agents and  to grow my audience. It's surprising how much of a benefit it is to have these social mediums, as well as it can be a nuisance.

3. Three sites you wish more people knew about.

Predators and Editors. I can not say enough how much this is a must have for writers wanting to make it in the writing industry. It's a great site to have bookmarked because the website is dedicated to warning writers about the shamsters out there.

Red Room - This is where the writers are. Basically it's a social medium for the literary world. You'll find here blogs by famous authors as well as unpublished authors. It's a great source of information and a great place to showcase your work.

Nathan Bransford - An agent as well as a writer, Nathan Bransford is a great source of information for anyone looking to make it in the writing world. is blogs are entertaining, informative and extremely well written.

4. Four great sites for wasting time.

If I am going to waste time online, I like to do it in a productive and creative way.

01. Day Zero Project - Basically this site is a site in which you write down 101 things you want to do in 1001 days and mark them off one by one. I stumbled across this site by accident and have not looked back. It allows me to motivate myself further. Many of mine are creative, some are personal and all are things I  want to do in the next 1-2 years.

02. 365 Project - The idea is to take a photograph every day for the next 365 days. For some of you who know me know I'm also a freelance photographer and have my photographs features in magazines such as Aquapulse.

03. Goodreads I spend a lot of time at goodreads, updating books I've read because I'm such a list fiend and reading author profiles and reviews. It also allows me to cruise for new books I may want to buy. Yeah, cause I need an excuse to buy MORE books.

04. my blog - Not just to write but to also read the blogs I follow. I love reading other bloggers, especially the writers, the reviewers and those who watch the world passing by with interested eyes.

5. Five shopping sites you would love to win shopping sprees for.

01. Amazon - music, movies and books in one place. My main addiction. I could easily spend hundreds of dollars on this site...and have.

02. itunes Again, a serious addiction for me. I could easily and happily spend a lot of money on music. Music and writing are my main passions in life.

03. apple I seriously want an ipad but I cringe at the idea of spending $800 on an ipad when I already have three laptops. I also would love a mac because they're better for photography, but I am holding off on that too.

I don't have any other sites I can thinkI can shop at so they're the ones I'd do a crazy-ass shopping spree in.
