Instead of making new years resolutions this year, I decided to participate in 101 things in 1001 days. I thought it would be better than going with New Years Resolutions I never seem to end up doing.
Having said that, I have goals I want to accomplish. These include finishing Nowhere to Run, starting Live and Let Die and working on a few other short stories, the blog and other creative adventures. Most of my goals are creative driven.
02. What are you really looking forward to in 2012?
Finishing Nowhere to Run, editing and rewriting. It's going to be a huge job but it's going to be worth it. I also can't wait to start writing the next novel. I've been working on this one for what feels like forever. It's time to finish it, start a new one and get myself out there. 2012 is kind of my version of tying up loose ends and starting again.
03. Did you have any life-changing experiences in 2011? What were they?
I realised who my friends were and how important my family are. I realised I need to align myself with people who will be supportive of my writing and who are writer-like orientated. As much as I love the friends of mine that are not creative, it's easier to explain why I am studying blood spatter patterns, serial killers and how to slit someone's throat to fellow writers. In essence, they don't look at me like I am from another planet.
04. What do you plan on waking up to on the 1st?
Since the 1st has passed, I will say I woke up to a New Year and I was happy about that. The last week of the end of 2011 was kind of hellish and not one to be repeated in the near future.
05. Do you have any particular traditions for New Year's?
Not really. I tend to stay home. The city can get pretty crazy in the New Year and public transport is unreliable. I'd like to be in Times Square again for one New Year's eve because that was an amazing experience.
